The service was quick and delicious. The vegetarian sandwich was the most delicious sandwich there, especially with the roasted well seasoned vegetables that they add to it. Would recommend. The prices and portion sizes are fantastic. The chicken sandwich is also simple but deliciously made. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out for a simple, yet cheap eat in a convenient location in south bank.

The food is just exceptional. Salads are so fresh and packed with lots of tasty ingredients. We had Frittata with the garden salad which had the usual but also avo, egg& asparagus with a delicious dressing. Staff were lovely and very friendly. Tables were comfortable, nice and shady with a breeze out of the sun. Will definitely be back and soon!

We stopped here for brunch on a very busy Sunday morning. Blue Basement is tucked away at the Conservatorium of Music, so a little out of the way which also means you can sometimes get a seat when other places have queues. Undercover seating and tables and chairs under umbrellas. Good service, nice coffee. Being a little out of the way makes this a more peaceful place to stop, especially when Southbank is in full holiday season-event mode.

Simply good We have lunch at Blue basement cafe nearly Everytime we come to southbank parkland. We tried many fancy one on grey street and found most of them are expensive but the food isn’t too impressive. I guess those are for tourists mainly, and blue basement cafe keep its reasonable price and its good quality. I love their salad, it always come with fresh fruits. Everything is great quality with reasonable portion and price. I noticed some reviews here about the rude old lady, yes she has been here forever, and always dosent look too friendly. The first time I came I have the same feeling that she is rude to me, but after coming more, I found she is same to anybody. I guess shes just a not very sociable person. I still come back all the time for the food, bcoz i cant find any cafe with same quality and price nearby. Those shop near the swimming pool is basically junk food, and grey st those got few are good for dinner but not quite for light brekkie and lunch.
